Venezuelan foreign minister describes Brian Nichols as retrograde

Caracas, May 1 (Prensa Latina) Foreign Minister Yván Gil described United States Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian Nichols as the most retrograde official in the State Department.

His anachronistic, slave-like and colonialist attitude is only surpassed by his “despicable disrespect for Venezuelans, posing with stateless people and symbols that do not represent our country,” the top diplomat wrote on his X account on Tuesday evening. Gil noted that “our flag has eight stars, including Guayana Esequiba, and the Bolivarian horse rides free like the wind to the left.

We demand respect for our homeland, the past that you and your lackeys personify and will not return,” he said.

The head of Venezuelan diplomacy was responding to a post published by the US official, in which he informed that he had met with “members of the Venezuelan diaspora in Florida, among the most committed and influential experts on Venezuela in the United States.”

The meeting aimed to discuss the US policy in “support of democracy and how we can work together to improve the lives of all Venezuelans,” Nichols stated in a clear and meddling stance.
