Cuba’s ambassador-designate to Cambodia presents style copies

Phnom Penh, May 2 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Ambassador-Designate to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Milena Zaldivar, presented on Thursday the Style Copies of the Credentials to Ouk Pheang, Director of the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Pheang welcomed Zaldivar warmly at the headquarters of that Ministry and assured the Cuban diplomat that she would receive all the support she needs to carry out her duties, wishing her success in her mission.

The ambassador-designate, in turn, highlighted the excellent state of bilateral relations based on solid ties of fraternal solidarity.

She also stressed the commitment to expand and diversify cooperation in areas of common interest between Cuba and the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The two sides congratulated each other on more than six decades of sustained diplomatic relations to ratify their willingness to continue advancing the agreements and consensus reached within the framework of the high-level dialogues.

They also discussed issues of the bilateral agenda.

Phnom Penh and Havana established diplomatic relations on April 15, 1960.

Both countries are active Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) members and have developed a bilateral dialogue at the highest level. Cambodia continues to support Cuba in its struggle against the US economic, commercial, and financial blockade.
