Siemens is negotiating the construction of a railroad in US

Berlin, May 2 (Prensa Latina) The Munich-based German consortium Siemens Mobility today announced the start of negotiations for the construction of a high-speed rail line in the United States.

It added that the company has been selected as the preferred bidder for the deal.

This means that final talks will begin to close the contract. It involves the delivery and maintenance of 10 trains that will link Las Vegas and Southern California at speeds in excess of 350 kilometers per hour.

Travelers will be able to travel this route in less than two hours. Several international consortiums had submitted bids for the tender.

The route is considered the first high-speed railroad in the United States. The American Pioneer 220 trains will be a sustainable alternative to air travel, said Siemens Mobility CEO Michael Peter.
