The Maldives parliamentary leader receives Cuban ambassador

Malé, May 6 (Prensa Latina) The president of the Maldives Parliament, Mohamed Aslam, described as productive a meeting held today with Cuban Ambassador Andres Gonzalez, in which they discussed bilateral relations and friendship between the two countries.

In his account on the X platform Twitter, the leader of the People’s Majlis confirmed that both explored ways to strengthen bilateral ties and improve cooperation.

Aslam pointed out that the exchange stressed the shared commitment of the two states to promote mutual interests.

Through snapshots the Parliament official website highlights the meeting between the two officials, which was also attended by First Secretary Maribel Duarte.

Previously, Cuban Ambassador Andres Gonzalez exchanged with the Maldivan Minister of Health, Abdullah Khaleel, on the medical cooperation provided by the Caribbean nation to the small South Asian archipelago.

Daniel Posada, head of the Cuban Medical Brigade in the Falklands, and Khadheja Abdul Samad Abdulla, the Falklands Health Minister of State, participated in the meeting, as reported in a publication of the diplomat in the X platform.

A medical brigade is maintained by Cuba in the Falklands, with professionals covering health areas in the Malé capital and the islands that make up the small archipelago. ef/abo/mem/lrd
