German Federal Prime Minister to visit Sweden with Ukraine on agenda

Berlin, May 8 (Prensa Latina) German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz will visit Sweden on the 13th and 14th to address security issues, support for Ukraine and other issues, cabinet spokesman Steffen Hebestreit declared today.

In Oslo, where he will arrive at the invitation of the Swedish Prime Minister, Ulf Kristersson, he will meet the heads of government of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

According to the agenda released by Hebestreit, bilateral talks between Scholz and Kristersson are scheduled for Tuesday, during which the partnership between the two states and what both describe as hybrid threats will be discussed.

On the other hand, Scholz will speak here later with the Swiss president, Viola Amherd, and they will talk about “bilateral cooperation and international problems,” according to the spokesperson.

Hebestreit did not rule out an exchange on the so-called peace conference on Ukraine, scheduled for June 15 and 16 in Switzerland without the presence of Russia.

Regarding that appointment, the spokesman for the Russian embassy in Bern, Vladimir Jokhlov, said that if his country receives an invitation it will not accept it because the summit seeks to promote the Ukrainian peace formula, which is unviable because it does not take into account Moscow’s interests.
