On X, Venezuelan Minister for Foreign Affairs Yvan Gil pointed out that the aforemention constitutes further proof of the provocations, as President Nicolas Maduro has repeatedly denounced, that ‘a war machine has been activated against our country.’

Gil underscored that the appetite of the US oil ExxonMobil Company has no limits and after appropriating Guyana, ‘they intend to destabilize the region and threaten the Peace Zone agreed by the countries of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States.

He asserted that the Government of the neighboring country violates its international commitments, including the 2023 Argyle Agreement, by ceding its sovereignty to the US power that threatens an entire continent.

That pact was agreed on December 14, 2023 between the Venezuelan president and his Guyanese counterpart Irfaan Ali, in which they established a commitment to maintain peace in the region and to comply with international law.

Venezuela denunció presencia de buque de EEUU en el Caribe

Caracas, 9 may (Prensa Latina) El ministro para la Defensa de Venezuela, general en jefe Vladimir Padrino, denunció hoy la presencia del portaaviones USS George Washington en el Caribe y la amenaza que representa para la paz regional.

En su cuenta X, el alto mando de la Fuerza Armada Nacional Bolivariana (FANB) aludió a una información divulgada por la embajada de Estados Unidos en Guyana, donde se anuncia el despliegue de aviones F-18 para sobrevolar “Georgetown y sus alrededores”.

La FANB rechazó en forma contundente “estas reiteradas provocaciones del Comando Sur” estadounidense, auspiciadas por el gobierno guyanés, que asumió “el rol de nueva colonia norteamericana”, señaló.

Padrino afirmó que el Sistema de Defensa Aeroespacial Integral permanece activado “ante cualquier intento de violación del espacio geográfico venezolano, incluyendo nuestro Territorio Esequibo ¡Alertas!”, expresó.

El ministro venezolano para Relaciones Exteriores, Yván Gil, en la misma red social apuntó que lo anterior constituye una prueba más de las provocaciones, como lo ha denunciado en reiteradas ocasiones el presidente Nicolás Maduro, que “se ha activado “una maquinaria de guerra contra nuestro país”.

Gil señaló que las apetencias de la petrolera estadounidense ExxonMobil no tienen límites y luego de apropiarse de Guyana, “pretenden desestabilizar la región y amenazan la Zona de Paz concertada por los países de la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños.

Aseveró que el Gobierno del país vecino viola sus compromisos internacionales, incluido el Acuerdo de Argyle de 2023, al ceder su soberanía a la potencia norteamericana que amenaza todo un continente.

Ese pacto fue acordado el 14 de diciembre de 2023 entre el mandatario venezolano y su homólogo guyanés, Irfaan Alí, en el cual establecieron el compromiso de mantener la paz en la región y acogerse al cumplimiento del Derecho Internacional.
