Ernesto Perez was the winner in the section of promotion in computer media, and Gelasio Dominguez in the same activity, but in television.

Pedro Mas received the award for print publications, and Rolando Rodriguez, president of the Cine Club Cubanacan, got the distinction for graphic promotion.

The philologist, critic and essayist Mario Masvidal considered the holding of those competitions to be of great importance, as most of the works presented were of high professional rigor and abundant creativity.

Masvidal was accompanied by the film, radio and television actress Nieves Riovalles and other personalities linked to the cinema screen, such as Aramis Acosta.

The event further featured talks on superhero cinema as a 21st century sub-genre and graphics in cartoons by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC).

It was dedicated to the participation of women in film, especially to the 50th anniversary of the fiction documentary “De cierta manera,” (One Way or Another One) by filmmaker Sara Gomez, and to the 45th anniversary of the film “Retrato de Teresa,” (Portrait of Teresa) by Pastor Vega.

It also included a workshop on film noir and the projection of cartoons on an inflatable screen at the “Para una sonrisa” For a Smile” project at the Jose Luis Miranda Paediatric Hospital in this city.
