Havana, May 15 (Prensa Latina) The Zimbabwean Ambassador to Cuba Paul Chikawa demanded on Wednesday the end to the criminal economic, commercial and financial U.S. blockade imposed on Cuba for over 60 years.

In an activity organized by the Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Ministry at the National Hotel, on the celebration of Africa Day on May 25, Chikawa said his country has also been suffering from Western economic sanctions for several years.

During his speech, on behalf of the African diplomatic corps accredited in Cuba and in front of representatives of national entities, Chikawa praised Cuba’s potential in several fields, among them the scientific-technical, which can contribute to greater economic and commercial development of the African States.

Meanwhile, the Angolan Ambassador Maria Candida Pereira Teixeira pointed out that her country is grateful for the valuable contribution of Cuba’s citizens to the preservation of the independence of Angola and other peoples of the region, which proves Cuba’s solidarity.

After thanking the African countries for their unconditional support to Cuba to repeal the unjust US blockade, the Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Deborah Rivas Saavedra stressed that this country could further boost trade with African States.
