Kim Jong Un honors deceased military and Party leader

Pyongyang, May 20 (Prensa Latina) The leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Jong Un, visited the tomb of Hyon Chol Hae on the second anniversary of the death of the renowned military and party leader.

According to the state-run ACNC news agency, the Workers’ Party (WPK) general secretary and chairman of the State Affairs Committee laid a flower and observed a moment of respectful silence at the burial site of one of his main political mentors on Sunday afternoon.

During his visit to the Patriotic Martyrs’ Cemetery, the leader paid tribute to Hyon Chol Hae (August 13, 1934-May 19, 2022), who was Kim Il Sung’s bodyguard during the Korean War.

Considered one of the most important military and political leaders of the DPRK, he was deputy director of the General Political Department of the People’s Army and an active official of the WPK, of which he was a member of its Central Committee and Political Bureau.
