China and Belarus review state of bilateral relations

Beijing, May 21 (Prensa Latina) Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks on Tuesday with his Belarusian counterpart, Sergei Alejnik, within the framework of the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry reported that during the meeting, which took place in Astana, Kazakhstan, Wang assured that Beijing is willing to continue to be a reliable partner and a strong supporter of Belarus.

The Chinese Foreign Minister conveyed President Xi Jinping’s cordial greetings to President Aleksandr Lukashenko, noting that the two heads of State have established deep friendship, solid mutual trust, and together have put bilateral relations on the fast track.

Wang added that his country appreciates Minsk’s firm adherence to the One China principle and its valuable support on issues related to the regions of Xinjiang, Tibet and Hong Kong involving the core interests of China.

Alejnik, in turn, asked his counterpart to convey President Lukashenko’s sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping, saying that the two heads of State are leaders supported by all peoples.
