Argentine Judicial Federation carries out a day of protest

Buenos Aires, May 23 (Prensa Latina) The Argentine Judicial Federation (FJA) is carrying out today a national day of struggle to denounce the deepening of the economic, social, political and institutional crisis and the attacks on union freedom.

In addition, the protest action is aimed at defending the collective bargaining processes, demanding the immediate salary recomposition and condemning anti-democratic and unconstitutional abuses in provinces such as Río Negro and Mendoza.

In a communiqué, the FJA warned that a legislative reform promoted by the Superior Court of Justice of Río Negro, with the endorsement of the provincial government, intends to restrict the rights and reduce the scope of union representation.

It further denounced that the authorities of Mendoza closed the paritarias (negotiations) by decree, unilaterally fixed an insufficient salary increase and tried to impose a clause called ‘social peace’ to prevent the strike.

They also want to declare the Judicial Power as an essential service to restrict the exercise of protest, warns the document.
