Houthi rebels attack three more ships linked to Israel

Aden, Yemen, May 24 (Prensa Latina) Houthi rebels from Yemen's Ansar Allah movement announced today they carried out new attacks against three ships in the Red and Mediterranean Seas.

According to Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea, the attacks were carried out against two Israeli ships and another one belonging to a Greek company.

Sarea added that several ballistic missiles were launched against the Israeli ship Alexandria, while a drone was also used against the Greek Yannis, in addition to missiles, both ships were sailing through the Red Sea.

The Greek ship belonged, according to Sarea, to the Eastern Mediterranean Maritime company, which the Houthis hold responsible for docking their cargo ships in ports in occupied Palestinian territory.

Finally, an action was reported against the Israeli ship Essex, in the Mediterranean Sea.

Since last November 19, the Houthi rebels grouped in the Ansar Allah movement proclaimed the decision to attack ships related to Israel in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, in response to Israeli aggression against Gaza.

The United States and the United Kingdom, for their part, have carried out raids against Houthi positions, in response to attacks on ships heading to Israel in the Red Sea.

The Houthis control northern Yemen, including the capital, after taking up arms against the Government in 2014, an event that sparked a civil war, which continues today.
