Cuba and Rwanda representatives sign cooperation agreement

Havana, May 29 (Prensa Latina) The Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) signed today a cooperation agreement to expand and strengthen the links between the party organizations.

The instrument was signed in this capital by the PCC Secretary, Roberto Morales, and the vice-president of the RPF, Consolee Uwimana.

The Cuban party organization said that during the meeting, Uwimana highlighted the excellent level of bilateral relations, as well as the work of the Cuban medical collaboration present in her country.

He detailed that in the last few months several agreements have been signed to strengthen relations in the fields of health and education.

The party leader stressed that the instrument signed this Wednesday emphasizes the role of party relations to foster government ties.

During the meeting, the PCC Secretary referred to the historical ties that unite the Caribbean nation with the African continent, which are evidenced ‘with the solidarity of thousands of Cubans through dissimilar forms’.

Morales ratified the commitment to make progress in the exchange of experiences for the creation of the system of political schools in Rwanda.

Likewise, he thanked the African nation for its support to the struggle against the blockade imposed by the United States and its rejection of the inclusion of Cuba in the unilateral list of countries that sponsor terrorism.

He indicated that the visit of the vice-president of the RPF will provide continuity to the issues discussed by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and his Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame, in the framework of the summit of the Group of 77 and China held last year in Havana.

During the meeting it was reported that a new brigade of Cuban health professionals will arrive in the African country this week.
