Poetry Festival in Havana, the pleasure of a friendly verse

Havana, May 29 (Prensa Latina) The 30th edition of the International Poetry Festival in Havana invites lovers of this genre on Wednesday to enjoy readings of Spanish-American poetry at the National Museum of Decorative Arts in this capital.

The event, which will wind up on June 1, offers the pleasure of a verse in the voice of Marcos Rivadeneira, Julia Erazo (Ecuador), Arturo Cordero, Sophia del Carmen Cortes (El Salvador), Melissa Merlo (Honduras), Oscar Molina, Estefania Yetsel (Mexico), Nora Curosini, Eldy Toro (Peru), and Luisa Oneida Landin, Jose Leon, Rafael Diaz, Marta Acosta, Rubiel Labarta (Cuba).

Attendees at the Fidel Castro Ruz Center enjoy readings by Hanan Awwad (Palestine), Mijain Gubernic, Silvia Monros (Serbia), Lina Zeron (Mexico), Norberto Salinas (Costa Rica), Yoyi Coda (Chile), Palmiro Soria (Bolivia), Mukoma Wa Ngugi (Kenya), Cesar Toro, Gilmar Arias (Peru), and Alfredo Allegri (Italy).

Another attraction this Wednesday is to take poetry to educational institutions in Marianao municipality, along with the Verso Amigo project.

The San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts is hosting a meeting with authors Angeles Mohedo, Jorge Heraud (Peru), Brane Mozetič, Ana Mateja Rozman (Slovenia), and Julio Cesar Sanchez (Cuba). Meanwhile, the “Enrique Jose Varona” Pedagogical University proposes readings by Octavio Jimenez, Ana Gabriela Lopez (Mexico), Rito Ramon Aroche, and Caridad Atencio (Cuba).

The Festival dedicates its 30th edition to African poetry and the 90th birthday of recently deceased Cuban ethnologist, researcher, and poet Natalia Bolivar.
