Russia increases grain exports

Moscow, May 31 (Prensa Latina) Russian cereal exports from the beginning of 2024 grew by 15 percent compared to the same period last year, announced today the deputy director of the Veterinary Control Service of this country, Anton Karmazin.

According to the communication, the increase represents 30.8 million tons, which means that Russia is on track to achieve a record of sales abroad in 2024.

Likewise, Karmazin said that Russia is the first supplier of grains to many countries, and in others, such as Mexico, they are the second largest distributors, and will strive to occupy first place in that country’s market.

The Mexican side fully supports us, but we have to be careful. As of today, the window of opportunity for Mexico is open, Karmazin stated.

He also pointed out that the capacity of the grain market in Mexico is five million tons.

According to the Russian department, in 2023, 989,600 tons of Russian wheat were exported to the Mexican market. At the same time, 297,600 tons have already been shipped from the beginning of 2024 until May 26.
