Ukrainian drone attack injures six people in Belgorod

Moscow, Jun 2 (Prensa Latina) At least six civilians were injured during a Ukrainian bombing on the city of Shebekino, in the Russian province of Belgorod, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Sunday.

The official stated on Telegram that five people were injured by shrapnel in the upper and lower extremities while traveling in two buses, and another civilian, who was on the street was hit by shrapnel in the forearm.

In addition, Gladkov reported the death of the deputy head of the Korocha district, Igor Nechiporenko, “due to the detonation of ammunition.” The detonation, the circumstances of which the governor did not specify, also caused minor injuries to three officials, including the head of the aforementioned district, Nikolai Nesterov.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that between 08:00 and 08:30 hours (Moscow time), three Ukrainian drones were shot down over Belgorod province.

The Russian provinces bordering Ukraine, such as Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Voronezh, regularly report shell strikes, drone incursions and other attacks from across the border, forcing the population to seek refuge elsewhere.
