ALBA-TCP congratulated Mexican people on election results

Caracas, Jun 3 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) secretariat today congratulated the people of Mexico for the election results.

The executive secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean integration bloc, Jorge Arreaza, described in X as a “great civic and democratic day” what happened this Sunday, in which the “brave Mexican people” elected Claudia Sheinbaum, the first woman President of Mexico.

Mexicans have made history and ratified the liberating and fair course of the fourth transformation, he said.

“Congratulations, long live Mexico,” he said. The president councilor of the Mexican National Electoral Institute (INE), Guadalupe Taddei, informed that Sheinbaum reached between 58.3 and 60.7 percent of the votes in this Sunday’s elections, to which around 98 million voters were summoned.

They followed the candidate of the ruling party, the opposition Xóchitl Gálvez, of the alliance formed by the Institutional Revolutionary, National Action and Democratic Revolution parties, with estimated ranges between 26.6 and 28.6 percent.

Jorge Alvarez, from Movimiento Ciudadano, came in third place with figures between 9.9 and 10.8 percent, according to INE.

Citizen participation results were estimated between 60 and 61.5 percent of the nominal list, stated Taddei.
