Death toll rises due to Israeli attack on Syria

Damascus, Jun 3 (Prensa Latina) Local activists raised to 17 the number of people killed by the Israeli attacks perpetrated in the early hours of today, in the province of Aleppo, in the north of Syria.

The sources quoted by several media here indicated that the victims are Syrian uniformed and militia members allied with the army in the fight against terrorism.

They clarified that the Israeli fighter jets fired their missiles from the skies over the Tanef area occupied by the U.S. forces in eastern Syria, and arrived there from Jordanian airspace.

They claimed that the aggression was perpetrated from the east of the country, far from the range of Syrian air defense fire, and with full cover and support from Washington’s troops.

The Ministry of Defense of the Arab nation had confirmed in a statement that the attacks targeted several positions and installations around the provincial capital.

Last May 29, a girl was killed and at least 20 people were wounded in heavy Israeli rocket shelling of trucks in the area of Al-Furklos in the east of the central Syrian province of Homs and the coastal city of Banias.
