President Arce convenes Education Congress 2024

La Paz, Jun 3 (Prensa Latina) Bolivia’s President Luis Arce convened on Monday the Plurinational Education Congress 2024, which will be held from November 11 to 15 in the municipality of San Benito, in the department of Cochabamba.

In making the presentation on Monday, at the Casa Grande del Pueblo, Government headquarters, Arce said that this forum “will outline the country’s educational horizons to train new citizens who will contribute to its development.”

He considered that the meeting should serve to establish very clearly the guidelines for an educational policy with an inclusive, scientific, technological, productive, revolutionary, liberating, progressive, intracultural, intercultural, plurilingual, decolonizing, and depatriarchalizing vision.

Arce argued that the development of the congress marks a milestone in the educational area to eradicate the problems and deficiencies that have been dragging on at different levels of academic training, limitations that were evident during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The leader considered that “quite a few years” have passed since the approval of the current Education Law, which today deserves to be reviewed and analyzed, in coordination with all the actors involved in this activity, given the qualitative change that is required.

The president said that this criterion is valid for educators and students in primary, high school, technological, and higher education, where what “we need” has not been achieved yet. The head of State stressed the need to improve the quality of nutrition in primary and high schools, while instilling values of respect and anti-corruption in the classroom from pre-school onwards. jrr/omr/oda/jpm
