St. Petersburg Forum evades more than 16,000 Western sanctions

San-Petersburgo-Foro-Economiaco-SPIEF1-1
Saint Petersburg, Russia, Jun 5 (Prensa-Latina) The Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) rises as one of the largest business events in the world despite more than 16,000 Western sanctions imposed on Russia illegally.

In the 2023 edition, more than 900 agreements were signed for 3,086 billion rubles (equivalent to almost 43 billion USD).

In addition, representatives of foreign companies from Italy and Spain, for example, signed contracts with Russian trade offices, including 43 agreements with representatives of foreign companies.

According to the SPIEF official website, over the past 26 years participants have exchanged best practices and know-how for the benefit of sustainable development.

The event has been held annually since 1997. Since 2005, it has been held under the auspices of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, who confirmed his participation in the current edition, from June 5th to 8th.

“The main business program of the forum is divided into four thematic blocks that correspond to the principal mission of the forum to maintain the global balance of power and build a multipolar international system,” said the spokesman for the Russian presidency, Dmitri Peskov.
