Vietnam advocate removal of Cuba from list of terrorist states

Vietnam1-1
Hanoi, Jun 6 (Prensa Latina) Vietnam supports the call made by the international community to the United States to remove Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Pham Thu Hang said in a press conference.

The spokeswoman responded to a question from Prensa Latina Latin American Information Agency by pointing out that the State Department recently excluded Cuba from the group of countries that “did not fully cooperate with the United States’ anti-terrorist efforts in 2023.” However, so far, the United States has not eliminated Cuba from the list of states that they consider to be sponsors of terrorism.

“Together with the international community, Vietnam calls on the United States to remove Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism and completely lift the embargo” against Cuba, the spokeswoman said, emphasizing that “Vietnam’s constant position is to support firmly the resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly that request the United States to end the embargo against Cuba.”

“Vietnam hopes that the United States will take the necessary measures to fully normalize relations with Cuba, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in America and the world,” the spokeswoman stressed.

Organizations in solidarity with Cuba also demanded days ago the definitive exclusion of Cuba from the arbitrary list.

“The United States should consider ending and permanently removing Cuba from the list, thus stopping the imposition of irrational and unfounded economic and financial blockade measures that seriously affect the lives of the brother Cuban people,” the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association said in a statement.

The declaration also confirms that the popular organizations of Vietnam firmly support and trust the revolutionary cause of the Cuban people in its fight against the US blockade and for the construction and development of Cuba.
