Cuba congratulates Indian Prime Minister on his re-election

Havana, Jun 10 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his re-election to the post he took over the day before for a third consecutive term. In a message posted on his X account, the Cuban head of State wished success in the new term of the Indian premier and conveyed his willingness to continue strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation.

Since Sunday, the Indian leader has been heading a government in coalition with other political forces of the nation, after a close election in which his party did not reach the majority needed to form the executive alone.

According to press reports, the swearing-in ceremony took place at the presidential residence and was attended by political leaders from India’s allied nations such as Sri Lanka, Maldives, Seychelles, and Bangladesh.

Cuba and India have maintained bilateral relations for 65 years, which have been described by diplomatic sources of both nations as traditionally warm, friendly, and mutually respectful.
