Cuban minister is in Panama to attend Mulino’s inauguration

Panama, Jun 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Higher Education Minister Walter Baluja arrived in Panama on Saturday, heading a delegation that will attend the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Jose Raul Mulino.

The Cuban delegation also includes Rafael Dausa, director of the Central America and Caribbean Department at the Foreign Ministry (MINREX), and Ambassador to Panama Victor Cairo.

Panamanian Foreign Minister Janaina Tewaney greeted Baluja and his accompanying delegation. The two parties ratified the historic ties that unite the two countries.

As part of its first activities, the Cuban delegation will pay tribute to National Hero Jose Marti by laying a wreath at the bust built at the emblematic Belisario Porras Park in this capital.

In addition to the protocol activities, the visitors will interact with the personnel of the Cuban Embassy, meet with authorities from Higher Education Centers, participate in a meeting of solidarity with Cuba, and visit places of economic and social interest.

Mulino’s inauguration was held at the Atlapa Conference Center in this capital on Monday, after the National Assembly (NA, the unicameral Parliament) is set up at the Justo Arosemena Legislative Palace.
