Belarus will respond firmly in case of Ukraine’s provocation

Minsk, Jul 3 (Prensa Latina) Belarusian President Aleksander Lukashenko said that the national Army will respond harshly in case of a border provocation by Ukraine.

“I want to ask Ukrainians not to beat around the bush and not to play with fire, because it is very dangerous,” the president said at a solemn meeting on the Independence Day of Belarus on July 3. “We must in no way allow an escalation or aggravation. I want the Ukrainian leaders to listen to this,” Lukashenko stressed.

The president noted that Minsk “does not need any escalation.” “Ukrainians understand that we will respond,” he said. “And as my friends in Russia recently said, “Lukashenko has positive color blindness: he will not draw any lines, the response will be terrible,” the president warned.

Lukashenko indicated that the military and border guards have intercepted dozens of reconnaissance vehicles, particularly drones, which are already in their territory. “It stresses me that these drones are transporting hundreds of the most modern explosives to the territory of Belarus,” Lukashenko added.

According to the head of State, these explosives are intended to to be used in terrorist attacks in Russia. “I want to state directly that we will defend ourselves and protect ourselves from these drones. We do not want attacks like the one on Crocus (concert hall), explosions and so on, to happen again,” he stressed.

“So far, we and the Federal Security Service and the Russian Ministry of Defense have managed to contain this onslaught,” the president pointed out.
