Netherlands highlighted asylum and migration as concerns

Amsterdam, July 3 (Prensa Latina) The new Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dick Schoof, today referred to asylum and migration, including work and student migration, as the biggest concerns of the Dutch.

During his first speech in office he stressed that this puts too much pressure on social cohesion in the neighborhoods, towns and cities of the European country, as well as on the availability and equity of services.

Schoof expressed that this is a real concern and, therefore, it should be taken very seriously, since the asylum and migration numbers are high and the impact on society is also high.

The prime minister by consensus of the four coalition parties, led by the radical right, promised to restore society’s trust in politics as the most important task of the legislature.

The head of Government stressed that, at the international level, the Netherlands continues as a reliable partner within the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), “with the deep awareness that these two organizations are the cornerstone of our security and prosperity.

Likewise, the Dutch executive will comply with all international treaties signed.
