Russia will closely follow NATO Summit in Washington

Moscow, Jul 9 (Prensa Latina) Russia will closely follow the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit that will open in Washington DC on Tuesday, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced.

We are aware, paying the utmost attention to the rhetoric behind the negotiations, of the decisions that will be made and documented at the meeting of the transatlantic bloc, Peskov told reporters accredited at the Russian presidency on Tuesday.

The NATO Summit coincides with the 75th anniversary of the signing of the bloc’s founding treaty. The alliance, whose treaty was penned in Washington on April 4, 1949, is now the world’s largest military bloc.

The NATO membership of Finland and Sweden in 2023 and 2024, respectively, enlarged the alliance to 32 member countries.
