Cuban-Italian poet presents book at her country’s Embassy in Rome

Rome, Sep 7 (Prensa Latina) Cuban-Italian poet Yuleisy Cruz launched her book "Di un' altra voce sará la paura" (Fear Shall Belong to Another Voice) at her country's Embassy in Rome, where she addressed the still lingering issue of gender violence.

Upon introducing the author at the event held on Friday, Cuban Ambassador Mirta Granda said she felt honored at welcoming the talented Cuban writer at the diplomatic premises, as Cruz’s poetic work acts as a link between the two cultures.

“Cuban residents in Italy not only contribute to developing the country where they have settled down but also their homeland, in the social, cultural and economic spheres, thus bringing the two nations closer together,” Granda said.

The Ambassador thanked the audience, among them a large number of members of the Cuban community in Italy, for attending the event, and emphasized the willingness to maintain and strengthen the excellent relations with them.

Journalist Fabio Sebastiani and art critic Cinzia Baldazzi, who highlighted the author ‘s significancy and the values of her latest publication, attended the activity, which was chaired by Alejandro Betancourt, Cultural Attaché at the Cuban Embassy.
