Cuba reaffirms commitment to friendship and cooperation with DPRK

Havana, Sep 9 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel reiterated the commitment to continue deepening the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between his country and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Through a message on the social network X, the president recalled the 76th anniversary of the founding of that Asian republic and expressed that Cuba joins the people, the Workers’ Party and Government of the DPRK in the celebration.

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez also greeted the National Day of the DPRK and reiterated the “invariable solidarity, friendship and cooperation with that brotherly country”.

In August 1948, the DPRK elected the Supreme People’s Assembly and on September 3 a new Constitution was promulgated.

Six days later, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was proclaimed with Kim Il Sung as prime minister.
