For the head of the parliamentary bloc Loyalty to the Resistance, the decision to open a support front in Lebanon for Gaza was a preventive measure with the mission to protect national sovereignty and the people.
Speaking at a commemorative meeting in the southern suburb of Beirut, Raad added that the sacrifices and losses in this direction are insignificant “compared to what would have had to be endured if the Israeli enemy had achieved its objectives in Gaza.”
In the MP’s assessment, Israel seeks to wipe out the Resistance in the Strip and establish its control in order to then invade the West Bank, end Jerusalem and the lands occupied in 1948, expand its settlement and threaten again Jordan, Egypt, the Gulf countries, Syria, Iraq and the Arab world in general.
According to the representative of Loyalty to the Resistance, Israeli forces succeeded in advancing and destroying parts of Gaza, but were unable to achieve their aims or fix their presence in Gaza.
“This led the enemy to a situation of internal confusion and exhaustion in terms of security, economy and management of the displaced,” he said.
In his view, the Tel Aviv government is moving in a lost time, which could extend until the U.S. elections, with no clear prospects, and threats of expanding the conflict into Lebanon.
