Russian Soyuz MS-26 spacecraft docked to the ISS

Moscow, Sep 12 (Prensa Latina) The Soyuz MS-26 manned spacecraft, launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, docked with the Rassvet module of the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS), the Space Agency (Roscosmos) reported.

The cargo ship carried the crew of the 72nd long-duration expedition to the ISS, which includes cosmonauts Ivan Vágner and Alekséi Ovchinin, as well as U.S. astronaut Donald Pettit, Roscosmos noted Thursday on its official Telegram channel.

The crew is scheduled to spend 202 days in orbit and return on April 1, 2025, on a mission in which 42 scientific experiments are planned to be carried out, three of which will be conducted for the first time.

Earlier cosmonaut Ovchinin reported that these are tests in medicine, biology, Earth remote sensing and some others.

In addition, Ovchinin and Vágner will perform a spacewalk in December to install on the outer surface of the Zvezda module a spectrometer for the All-Sky Monitor experiment.
