Prensa Latina, Izvestia ink information cooperation agreement

Moscow, Sep 16 (Prensa Latina) The Latin American News Agency Prensa Latina (PL) and the Izvestia Multimedia Information Center (MIC) inked a cooperation agreement on Monday to exchange contents.

The document, signed by Izvestia’s Director General Vladimir Tyulin and Prensa Latina’s President Luis Enrique Gonzalez, aims to promote friendly relations and cooperation in Russian and Cuban media.

It also provides for the exchange of operational information materials on events in the national and international life of both nations.

The Russian multimedia’s top representative highlighted at the ceremony that both Prensa Latina and Izvestia emerged in times of revolution.

“Given the history we share, our cooperation is bound to bring Moscow and Havana together in revolutionizing the press,” Tyulin said.

The PL president emphasized that it is not a coincidence that this new alliance arose, as it emerged amid a growing crisis of attempts to isolate the Cuban and Russian media from the global communication map, as attempted by big Western information corporations.

The agreement between Prensa Latina and Izvestia will strengthen their cooperation in exchanging information and in the framework of joint projects.
