The Cuban top diplomat voiced support for the ambassador in assuming his new functions, and the hope that his work will contribute to the development and expansion of ties between the two countries.
Diplomatic relations between Cuba and Spain, which date back to June 21, 1902, comprise such sectors as hotels, logistics, construction and food production.
Ties between the two countries were recently consolidated with the visit to Havana by Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, in 2018, and King Felipe 6th and Queen Letizia in 2019.
