To Lam’s visit to Cuba is expected to have “positive results”

Hanoi, Sep 20 (Prensa Latina) The state visit to Cuba by the general secretary of the Communist Party (PCV) and president of Vietnam, To Lam, should have exceptionally positive results, said Cuban ambassador Orlando Hernández Guillén.

“In Cuba we have worked hard in preparing the visit, on September 25th and 26th, so that the best possible results are obtained,” said the diplomat in statements to the press.

According to Hernández Guillén, the visit of To Lam and the large delegation accompanying him will enable exchanges of views at the highest level, which will undoubtedly contribute to enhance bilateral relations.

To Lam will hold talks in Havana with his counterpart Miguel Díaz-Canel, with the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro, with the president of the National Assembly, Esteban Lazo, and with Prime Minister Manuel Marrero.

The delegation accompanying To Lam includes leaders of important Vietnamese provinces, ministers, representatives of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the State and the National Assembly, which “will contribute to turning around the perspective work of the sectors that will be represented,” said the ambassador, who also stressed that an interparliamentary meeting will be held prior to the State visit.

“The fact that provincial leaders are present will introduce a new quality to the bilateral relationship, which is the development of ties at that level and between localities, which will enable new sources to make bilateral cooperation deeper, more intense and mutually beneficial,” said the diplomat, who also emphasized that the close relationship of brotherhood, mutual support, affection and reciprocal admiration between both countries was cemented since the beginning of the 1960s by Fidel Castro and Ho Chi Minh.

These ties are currently very rich and broad, said the Cuban Ambassador. He emphasized on the fact that in these more than six decades that have passed, both nations have developed strengths and faced over time changing threats.
