Managua, Sep 23 (Prensa Latina) The Nicaraguan Government, through the Health Ministry (MINSA), opened the "German Pomares" Hemodialysis Center in the northwestern Chinandega department on Monday.

The country’s Vice President Rosario Murillo stated that the health institution has 103 specialized chairs and about 1,000 patients with chronic kidney failure. This center will offer 2,000 hemodialysis sessions per week.

This installation, which required an investment of 67.2 million cordobas (more than 1,829,601 dollars), is part of the Sandinista Executive’s initiatives to guarantee free, quality medical care.

Similar centers have been opened in this other departments in the last few years. They aim to bring health services closer to the population, which previously had to move to the capital to receive medical care.
