The head of the Angolan Parliament thus responded to an invitation from her Cuban counterpart, Esteban Lazo, and in the audience with the representative of the island in Luanda, held on Wednesday at the Legislative headquarters, they talked about the beginning of the preparations to make the trip effective before the end of 2024.
Leon told the press that, in addition to this issue, the conversation focused on the excellent relations between the two peoples considered as brothers, and parliamentary cooperation.
He also thanked the president of the Parliament for Angola’s position of demanding the end of the economic blockade against Cuba, as expressed the day before by the president, João Lourenço, in his speech at the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations.
Carolina Cerqueira said that Angolan parliamentarians also support the call to end this policy of sanctions against the Caribbean nation.
The Cuban ambassador also reaffirmed the island’s determination to continue strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation with Angola.
