According to Venezuela News reports, the country’s foreign minister, Yván Gil, held meetings with several counterparts from African countries to strengthen bilateral relations, in the context of the 79th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
From his official Telegram account, Gil described the meetings as fruitful and reaffirming the friendship between the peoples.
He also highlighted Venezuela’s commitment to strengthen ties with African nations to promote cooperation and joint development in various fields.
After his meeting with his counterpart from Burkina Faso, Gil expressed that “it is fundamental to maintain communication and open dialogue to identify opportunities and face common challenges”.
Gil’s meetings were held with his counterparts from Cameroon, Libya, Tanzania, among others.
It is worth remembering that 10 years ago, Commander Hugo Chavez promoted an active policy of diplomatic and commercial relations with the African continent.
