This decision, highlighted as an act of national sovereignty, marks a milestone in the claim of this territory in dispute with Guyana, underlines Venezuela News.
Deputy Hermann Escarrá, president of the Special Commission for the Defense of the Essequibo Territory, highlighted the historical transcendence of this bill, which is one of the most important for Venezuela since 1811.
This new state will encompass an extensive territory, bounded by the Atlantic Ocean, Brazil, Guyana and the Venezuelan states of Delta Amacuro and Bolivar.
The creation of this state represents a firm commitment of the Venezuelan government to the defense of its territorial sovereignty and seeks to strengthen the presence of the State in the area.
In order to guarantee the security and control of the territory, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces maintain a military deployment in the region.
In addition, actions were initiated to strengthen the institutional presence and social development in the Essequibo.
