Argentine government closed company and fired over 1,400 people

Buenos Aires, Oct 1 (Prensa Latina) The Argentine government announced today the closure of the company Trenes Argentinos Capital Humano, the elimination of the Institute of Transport and the dismissal of over 1,400 employees.

In a press conference, the presidential spokesman, Manuel Adorni, and the secretary of the sector, Franco Mogetta, indicated that the measure responds to the intention of the Executive of Javier Milei to reduce the State workers, decrease public spending and maintain the goal of fiscal balance.

According to the newspaper Página 12, Trenes… had no operational functions in the railway service, but was responsible for the training of workers, the organization and advice of technical assistance, the management of human resources and the maintenance of the stations.

It was also in charge of the safekeeping of documents on the system and the history of the sector, for which reason it was in charge of the National Training Center and the Railway Museum.

According to the media, more than 33,000 public administration employees have been fired since the leader of La Libertad Avanza arrived at the Casa Rosada.

Today, the State Workers Association announced that it will reinforce its plan to fight against expulsions by holding camps and staying in several ministries.

The first of these actions will take place on Thursday in the Human Capital portfolio and is expected to last 24 hours, after which a press conference will be held.

We do not rule out the occupation of some organizations. We reject all illegal dismissals that translate into the dismantling of public policies and the loss of rights of the entire society. We demand the immediate reinstatement of those arbitrarily expelled, said the general secretary of ATE, Rodolfo Aguiar.
