Patients in Scotland waiting over a year to have teeth pulled out

Edinburgh, Nov 11 (Prensa Latina) Patients in Scotland have spent more than a year in agony while waiting to have a tooth pulled, the Scottish Labor Party warned on Monday.

Data provided to the party following a series of Freedom of Information data of Scotland’s 14 health boards showed a panorama of average waiting has increased since 2019.

Sick people waited longer in Lothian, with a staggering average of 62 weeks in 2023-2024, compared with just 12 weeks in 2019-2020.

This was closely followed by 55 weeks in the border and 54 weeks in Grampian between last year and this year, compared to 21 and 14 weeks respectively in 2019-2020.

The longest individual waiting time was also recorded in Lothian, where one person had to endure a two-year wait to have a tooth pulled, while one patient waited 94 weeks in Highland and another had to wait 87 weeks in Fife.
