Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Nov 19 (Prensa Latina) The Group of Twenty (G20) summit in Rio de Janeiro ended with very positive results, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today from the meeting venue.

“I think the results are very positive, significant agreements have been reached. It is very important,” Lavrov said at the end of the summit, and said that among the achievements made at the G20 is support for the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty, which aims to boost the fight to eradicate hunger by 2030.

In addition, the Russian foreign minister noted that the Ukrainization of the summit agenda was avoided.

The West, of course, tried to Ukrainize the entire agenda. It failed to do so. No one from the countries of the global majority, the Global South, supported it, Lavrov stressed.

In particular, he added, Russia and its counterparts from developing countries insisted that the text of the G20 final declaration “focus on all conflicts.”

The final document is comprehensive in nature and “the main thing is that it recognizes modern realities and is guided by the central task of building international relations based on multilateralism, pluralism and the elimination of all forms of inequality,” Lavrov said.
