Vice Admiral Zhao Xiaozhe, director general of the Science and Technology Committee of China’s Central Military Commission, as well as Defense, Military, Naval and Air attachés accredited here and members of the island’s diplomatic mission congratulated the military body.
During his speech, the Military, Naval and Air Attaché to the Embassy of Cuba, Colonel Waldo Pérez Cortés, stressed that the armed forces also stand out for an active participation in the political, economic and social events of the country and in other areas such as confronting natural disasters and epidemics.
“That’s why we dedicate this celebration to our brave fighters, who, together with our noble and heroic people, guarantee the sovereignty of our Homeland, which we will not relinquish no matter how harsh the cruel and unjust measures of economic pressure imposed by the United States,” he added.
The colonel said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba 64 years ago, the two peoples, states and armed forces share “deep bonds of friendship that are strengthened day by day, with a real sense of brotherhood and solidarity.”
