Restoration and modernization of schools in the DPRK

Pyongyang, Nov 29 (Prensa Latina) More than 1,270 schools, annexes and kindergartens were rebuilt or modernized this year in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the state news agency KCNA reported today.

The news agency stated that Over 13,000 multifunctional classrooms were also upgraded as part of the improvement of the infrastructure of the national education system.

At the same time, the material basis for study in all schools, including furniture and resources related to computerization, is being improved.

The efforts in this direction were established by the resolution of the 9th Plenary Session of the 8th Party Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

Last year the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK amended several draft laws related to education. In the field of vocational technical education, the teaching plans and curricula of vocational technical schools were improved as well as the mechanisms for training and placement of teachers and supply of materials, teaching aids, laboratory equipment and other things.
