The meeting will address several essential issues for the country, including this organization’s role in correcting mistakes, revitalizing the national economy, and involving state and non-state actors.
Jorge Luis Broche, member of the CCPCC secretariat and head of its Economic and Productive Department, stated that reports on the progress of the government program discussed in 2023, the proposed plan, and the economy’s budget for next year will be analyzed.
Broche announced in a press briefing that during the 9th CCPCC Plenary Session, the organization’s Political Bureau will give an account of its management and assess the negative trends in the Cuban society’s ideology, among other issues.
Carlos Torres, president of the Economic Commission of the CCPCC and a member of the Cuban Parliament, explained that this group of experts has gathered criteria from more than 90,000 people nationwide, including economic experts, university academics, economic stockholders, members of grass-roots organizations, and party and government structures.
The meeting will debate about 1,000 proposals resulting from these exchanges and conduct “a critical analysis of the functioning of the economy, its state and non-state actors, the strengthening of trade union structures in these sectors, and the mechanisms to promote cooperatives.”
