More than 17 thousand have died and injured in Haiti since 2022

Port-au-Prince, Dec 26 (Prensa Latina) The United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti reported that the death toll since 2022 is 17 thousand people in Haiti.

The digital newspaper Haiti Libre reported that 105 children lost their lives violently and 300 thousand were forced to leave their homes between January and September of this year, becoming displaced.

The 2024 Annual Report on Children and Armed Conflict published by the United Nations Organization expresses deep concern about the terror established by gangs.

The report recounts serious violations of children’s rights, such as forced recruitment, murders, sexual violence, and attacks on schools.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights recently reported that violence remains a problem in Haiti, where 20 persons died per day in the first half of 2024.

According to a statement, 3,661 citizens were killed in that period, showing a higher level of violence compared to the same period in 2023.
