In a message of satisfaction for achieving a ceasefire deal in Gaza, the Lebanese president hoped that such a decision would lead to an end to the tragic reality in the Strip.
The head of State, in turn, insisted on monitoring Israel’s serious commitment to the Gaza agreement, “as it has become accustomed to evading its obligations and ignoring international resolutions.”
In this context, Aoun denounced the attacks in southern Lebanon and the violations of the ceasefire deal in force since November 27.
The president pointed out that the implementation of the new pact will allow the return of displaced Palestinians to their homes, and rebuild what has been destroyed in the devastated Gaza Strip.
After more than 470 days of genocide in Gaza, the Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, and Israel announced on Wednesday to materialize a ceasefire agreement mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States.
Hamas stressed that the deal was the result of the legendary resilience of the Palestinian people and the Resistance in the Strip for more than 15 months.
