Suarez Alvarez handed the document to the head of Protocol of the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry, Aziza Geleta Dessalegn, during which she stressed that her arrival takes place in the framework of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Havana and Addis Ababa.
She said that the Caribbean nation is proud of its African roots, the latter parts of its identity: religion, food, dance, music and above all rebelliousness.
One of her goals is to return to the old rhythms of collaboration, particularly in medicine, agriculture and education, she assured.
She expressed gratitude for Ethiopia’s support in the African Union, as well as in the UN, for the demand to end the blockade against Cuba and to remove it from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism of the United States.
A few days before leaving office, Joe Biden announced that we are being removed from that unjust list where we should never have been.
We thank Africa and Ethiopia for their signs of support in the African Union and I assure you that our people will never give up, because African rebelliousness is in our genes that we have in Africa’, she stated.
