The National Assembly (Parliament) unanimously approved the day before the articles of the title “Rights, Duties and Guarantees of the Nicaraguan People”, thus ratifying the unconditional equality of the citizens of this nation.
In addition, it strengthens the protagonism of families in the design and development of public policies that guarantee the common good, a press release from the Parliament highlighted.
“With this approval, we constitutionalize the right to health, through the family and community health model, and to education at all levels, free of charge and of quality,” the text stressed.
It also establishes that native peoples and Afro-descendants have the right to education in their mother tongue and respect for their art and culture, enriching the National Culture.
Likewise, it reaffirms the protection and special attention to children, people with disabilities and the relatives of the heroes and heroines of the Revolution.
