At the beginning of the dialogue with his Iranian counterpart the head of state of Russia detailed that in the first 10 months of last year the bilateral exchange increased by 15.5 percent, which he catalogued as a good indicator.
In this regard, he argued that Moscow and Tehran continue to implement joint projects, among other areas, in the sphere of nuclear energy.
“Your visit today has a special significance. Because we will not only have the opportunity and discuss all areas of our cooperation, but also sign a great basic treaty between Russia and Iran on comprehensive strategic partnership,” Putin stressed.
In this regard, the Iranian leader affirmed that the agreement will become “a solid basis for moving forward” and “will give a great impetus to the development of bilateral relations.”
Pezeshkian also stressed the importance of developing relations with Russia, while condemning the presence of extra-regional forces in the Middle East.
