This is a milestone for the Bao Longyu test area of the Academy of Aerospace Technology Institute, as reported by CCTV.
At 9:43 a.m., 10:47 a.m., and 12:06 p.m. local time, two 120-ton thrust rocket engines and one 18-ton engine, all liquid fuel (liquid oxygen and kerosene), completed their ignition tests.
According to the publication, this achievement reinforces the capability of verification and serial production of the main engines of the country’s new generation of carrier rockets, which will support future high-density launches of the Long March models.
The tests performed are part of the technical acceptance process before the assembly of the engines on the rockets.
According to experts, preparation for these tests, which previously required five days, has been reduced to two, thanks to digital and technological innovations implemented in recent years.
The test area, which has been operational for 20 years, has played a crucial role in developing rocket engines, whose manufacturing process includes multiple tests at different stages, the text said.
Among the milestones of Beijing’s space race are the rover that reached the far side of the moon and the construction of the Tiangong station or Heavenly Palace. jrr/arm/oda/idm
