The 19th José Martí, Ecology and the Arts miniature competition, sponsored by the provincial branch of the José Martí Cultural Society (SCJM), was held in this city from the 16th to the 18th. The awards ceremony was held the day before.
This was informed to Prensa Latina by Juan Eduardo Bernal, president of the SCJM in the province, who added that some 50 representatives from Havana, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara, Ciego de Avila, Las Tunas, and the host territory participated, with a total of 83 works.
Miniature salons will remain open to the public until the end of February in different cultural institutions of the head municipality, Bernal added.
These areas in the city are the Oscar Fernandez-Morera Art Gallery, located on the busy boulevard, the Osvaldo Mursulí Culture House, and the Provincial Heritage Center.
In response to a question from Prensa Latina, Bernal pointed out that the 18th edition of the Symposium “With all and for the good of all” will be held on the 22nd and 23rd at the Fight Against Bandits Museum, in Trinidad, Cuba’s southern central city.
Organized by the Municipal Council of the SCJM in the third of the first seven villages founded in Cuba by the Spanish, the symposium will include the participation of researchers on the life and work of José Martí, the most universal of Cubans.
